Better Life Academy Instructor & Organization Terms

When you sign up to become an instructor or register your organization on the Better Life Academy platform, you agree to abide by these Instructor & Organization Terms (“Terms”). These Terms outline the specific aspects of your engagement with Better Life Academy and are incorporated by reference into our Terms of Use, which govern your use of our services. Any capitalized terms not defined here are as specified in the Terms of Use.

By becoming an instructor or organization, you are contracting directly with Better Life Technologies, regardless of where payments are processed or which of our subsidiaries may assist in payment facilitation.

1. Instructor & Organization Obligations

As an instructor or organization, you are responsible for all content you post, including but not limited to lectures, quizzes, practice tests, assignments, resources, course landing page content, assessments, and announcements (“Submitted Content”).

By signing up, you represent and warrant that:

  • You will provide accurate and up-to-date account information.
  • You own or have the rights to use the Submitted Content and have the authority to license it to Better Life Academy, in line with these Terms.
  • Your Submitted Content will not infringe or misappropriate any third party’s intellectual property rights.
  • You have the qualifications, credentials, and expertise (including education, training, and skills) to offer the services or courses you provide through the platform.
  • You will uphold the quality standards of your industry and provide services consistent with educational best practices.

You agree that you will not:

  • Post inappropriate, offensive, false, or misleading content.
  • Transmit unsolicited promotional materials or engage in unauthorized advertising through our services.
  • Use the platform for purposes other than delivering educational content.
  • Impersonate others or gain unauthorized access to another user’s account.
  • Interfere with or hinder other instructors or organizations from delivering their services.

2. License to Better Life Academy

You grant Better Life Academy the rights to market, distribute, and make available your Submitted Content to learners through our platform and affiliated services. This includes the right to modify your content (e.g., adding captions for accessibility) and sublicense it to partners like resellers or distributors.

You agree that Better Life Academy may use your Submitted Content for marketing, quality control, and product enhancement purposes. You also give permission for your name, likeness, and voice to be used in connection with promoting the platform and services.

You have the right to remove your Submitted Content from the platform at any time. However, the rights granted to students/learners who have already enrolled in your course will remain in effect, and Better Life Academy retains the right to use the content for marketing purposes after its removal.

3. Trust & Safety

3.1 Policies and Guidelines

You agree to comply with all Better Life Academy’s Trust & Safety policies, including guidelines on appropriate content and behavior. These may be updated periodically, and it’s your responsibility to review and ensure compliance.

Better Life Academy reserves the right to remove content, suspend payouts, or ban instructors and organizations for violations of our policies, such as:

  • Posting content that doesn’t meet our quality standards.
  • Engaging in activities that may negatively reflect on Better Life Academy.
  • Using the platform to unfairly promote external businesses.

3.2 Co-Instructors and Teaching Assistants

As an instructor, you may add co-instructors or assistants to help manage your courses. By doing so, you are responsible for ensuring their compliance with these Terms. Any violations committed by your co-instructors or assistants may impact your account.

3.3 Relationship with Learners

Instructors and organizations do not have direct contractual relationships with students/learners. The information you receive about learners is solely for providing services through Better Life Academy, and any use of that information outside our platform is prohibited.

3.4 Anti-Piracy Efforts

You appoint Better Life Academy to act on your behalf in enforcing copyrights to protect your content from unauthorized use. We partner with anti-piracy vendors to help ensure the protection of your intellectual property.

4. Pricing

4.1 Instructor & Organization Programs

Better Life Academy offers various promotional and marketing programs designed to increase your revenue potential. These programs do not require upfront costs and can be modified at your discretion within specified timeframes.

4.2 Price Setting

You may select a base price for your Submitted Content or offer it for free. Better Life Academy may adjust prices for promotional purposes. When a student purchases in a different currency, prices will be adjusted based on a conversion matrix.

4.3 Transaction Taxes

Where applicable, Better Life Academy will collect and remit taxes on purchases made by learners, adjusting the sale price accordingly. Mobile platform purchases may be subject to additional transaction fees.

5. Payments

5.1 Revenue Share Model

Instructors and organizations earn 70% of the Net Amount for every course purchase, with Better Life Academy retaining 30%. This revenue share is subject to change based on economic conditions, market dynamics, tax regulations, or other factors. Better Life Academy reserves the right to modify the revenue share and will notify you in advance of any changes.

5.2 Instructor Coupons & Referral Links

You may generate coupons or referral links for discounted or free access to your content. You will receive 80% of the Net Amount for transactions involving your coupon or referral link.

5.3 Receiving Payments

Payouts to instructors and organizations will be processed at the end of each week. Payments will be made via Tanzanian bank accounts (for Tanzanian residents only) in good standing. You must keep us informed of the correct details associated with your account. You are responsible for ensuring that all tax documentation is provided to avoid withholding penalties.

5.4 No Refunds Policy

Unlike other platforms, Better Life Academy does not offer refunds to students/learners. Once a purchase is made, the transaction is final. Instructors and organizations will not be penalized for refunded transactions, as no refunds are issued.

5.5 Payment Deductions

Better Life Academy will deduct service fees, taxes, and any applicable third-party charges from the Gross Amount to determine your Net Amount.

6. Trademarks

You may use Better Life Academy’s trademarks for promotional purposes, provided you comply with our branding guidelines. Misuse of trademarks or implying endorsement beyond the scope of our services is prohibited.

7. Deleting Your Account

Instructors and organizations may request account deletion at any time. However, access to previously purchased courses by students/learners will be maintained even after account deletion.

8. Miscellaneous Legal Terms

8.1 Updating Terms

Better Life Academy may update these Terms as needed to reflect changes in services or policies. Continued use of the platform indicates your acceptance of any updates.

8.2 Translations

Any version of these Terms in a language other than English is provided for convenience, and you understand and agree that the English language will control if there is any conflict.

8.3 Relationship

No joint venture, partnership, or agency relationship exists between you and Better Life Academy.
